Don Cherry fired from Coaches Corner

After years of bigotry, Cherry messes with the wrong group and got crushed.

Long-time Coaches Corner co-host Don Cherry was fired yesterday for comments he made about particular immigrants not supporting the Remembrance Day Poppy. Let’s break this down. The people Cherry was referring to particularly were of Asian descent. How do we know… He specifically said Mississauga and downtown Toronto. Moreover, a large contingency of those who have come out asking for Cherry to be fired has been from Asian backgrounds.

Here’s where it gets tricky. The Asian community in Mississauga and downtown Toronto, had absolutely nothing but forgiveness when it came to Trudeau’s Blackface scandal — even voting Trudeau back, in every single Mississauga and downtown riding. Why? Because as a community, they understand political-economical leverage. They have no problem taking racism from Trudeau, because as a community, they receive economic privileges and benefits from the Liberal party. Cherry has been a long-time right-wing bigot. However, he brings no benefit to the Asian community. So, therefore, his racism was intolerable. And yes, it’s absolutely hypocritical.

This is why we should never throw in our lot with “People of Colour.” They got their own agenda that does not include us.
