How the Liberals Political Turmoil can Benefit Black Canadians
Finance Minister Bill Morneau resigned yesterday after growing calls for him to step down after numerous ethics violations involving WE Charity. Morneau and his family took all-expense-paid trips to African & South America, and Morneau’s daughter was an employee of the Charity. Morneau was involved in the decision to award the Charity with an over $900 million contact.
At a press conference, Morneau said he was stepping down to apply for a position with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Morneau’s wife, Nancy McCain, who the heiress to the McCain food empire.
The new Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland was appointed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau this morning and is undoubtedly being rewarded for going toe-to-toe with US President Donald Trump during free trade negotiations.
Trudeau also dissolved parliament until September 23rd in an effort not to face a confidence vote, which would trigger an election. Both the Conservative Party of Canada and the Quebec Separatist Party had hinted on triggering an election.
What does this mean for Black communities in Canada?
It is possible for a Fall election; however, this is unlikely due to a possible second wave of Coronavirus. However, do expect an election to be called in the next 8-24 months. This should give Black communities enough time to build a political war chest to buy, lease, and rent federal politicians to do our bidding.
Our agenda should never be “equality and inclusion,” but strictly economic.
This includes, but is not limited to,
• Slavery reparations for African Nova Scotians.
• Guaranteed government contracts for Black-owned businesses.
• Low interest guaranteed business and home loans for Black businesses and families.
If you are unsure how to do this, feel free to contact us or watch our YouTube video entitled “The Black Agenda.” We break down how to achieve controlling the politicians in your community in a simple step-by-step guide.
