The Del Jones War Correspondent Award

Del Jones The War Correspondent

We are also proud to have an additional award this year. The Del Jones War Correspondent Award. This prestigious award is named after Philadelphia’s own Del Jones, author, speaker and hip-hop recording artist. Before passing away, Jones spent his life fighting anti-Black racism and White Supremacy. He wrote several books, including Black Holocaust and Culture Bandits 1 & 2. He is most famous for his critically acclaimed lecture, The American Ni**a Factory, and reporting in hotspots across the U.S and the Caribbean. Jones was a true African Warrior that loved his people above all else. We are proud to bestow an award holding his name, and we thank his family for graciously giving us permission.

Eligibility

The award will be given to a Black youth on the ground level, reporting Black news to the community. Special consideration may be given to those that covered the anti-Black racism rebellion. Ages 16-24.

This year’s winners will receive an exclusive Black Power Pack from us. The Power Pack will include numerous gifts to guide the youths’ road toward Black Empowerment.
